Meet KREST House author, Jason Coldicott

The Urban Writers has ranked self-help/self-development books as the third most popular book genre, with book sales reaching astronomical levels at the start of each year. The advice regarding developing oneself varies from author to author. From the manner it should be done, the laws/principles to be followed, to the frequency it should be done, there is no doubt there’s a book to fix any funk.
KREST Publishers author Jason John Coldicott provides insight into his novel How to Grow a Stone. His thought-provoking anecdotes are a fresh perspective on a topic that has such a wide range.

Author Bio:

The author lives in a quaint harbour town where he spends most of his days watching the ocean, feeding seagulls, and stealing the love of the neighbourhood cats. He embraces a great appreciation for the gift of life, managing to profoundly tap into the underlying depth of spiritual energies while grasping the positive impact that they may have upon one’s life.

About the book:

What is the difference between the ordinary and the extraordinary, the mundane and the magical, the impossible and the possible? This book enables one to join a thrilling step-by-step journey of transformation that will captivate the attention of all readers, regardless of whether they are well-versed in spirituality or possess little to no subject knowledge. With a heavy focus on pragmatic applications that neatly bridge the divide between one’s day-to-day
experiences and deeper spiritual insight, the process challenges a person to change on a fundamental level in order to gain a new understanding of life, intent, and awareness. It will enable anyone to look at their own life and viewpoints from a universal perspective. It is a valuable tool that will gradually guide readers to move from ordinary states of perception into the extraordinary facets of awareness that are rarely accessible in the course of an average life – the place where the magic waits.

Q&A:

1. How to Grow a Stone follows themes of self-transformation and infinite potential. What central message or key takeaway do you want readers to ultimately take away after reading your book?
The takeaway message is actually a very simple one: In regard to your mind, you make the rules. You are in control. You always have been. The book is an explanation of how that works and why you have more agency than you give yourself credit for.

2. Many chapters explore a wealth of topics. Which was your favourite to write about?
Definitely the chapters on dreaming. Dreaming is something that we all do, but we have become so caught up in our daily concerns that the magic of dreams has faded into obscurity. Revitalising our ability to dream and then acting with agency within a dream is, with no exaggeration, a life-changing experience.

3. Your book is quite thought-provoking and insightful. How much of what you’ve written comes from personal anecdotes and research?
Both research and experience have been vital to the writing of this book. Knowledge isn’t anything new, as many spiritual and religious traditions around the world have talked about the same things, such as the idea of losing the self in many religions and the dream-walking traditions of the aboriginal people. All I’ve done is restructure that information into a form that the modern mind can understand. But acting on the knowledge is key. By following the outlined strategies and feeling the changes directly, anyone can obtain a richer form of knowledge – and experience.

4. What was the one piece of advice or quote that kept you motivated throughout the entire writing process?
It’s the butterfly effect of the mind. The smallest changes in initial conditions can lead to vastly different outcomes. And we control those micro conditions.
